In his spare time, Dr. Thompson enjoys going to car shows as well as playing both golf, and hockey.

Dr. Kathy Foertsch has been at York Animal Hospital since 2008.  She grew up and attended veterinary school in Illinois.  After graduation in 1991 she moved to Maine to surround herself with the forests, lakes and mountains lacking in her home state.  An avid outdoor enthusiast, she enjoys bicycling, kayaking, hiking and cross country skiing.  She lives in western Maine with her 2 elderly cats George and Sophie who love going outside for fresh air as much as Dr. Foertsch does.

Mary Thompson is a licensed veterinary technician and prominent dog trainer.  In 1999 Mary authored the book “Off to a Good Start”.  In her spare time, Mary enjoys riding her horse, reading, and playing with her dogs and kitty. Mary is available for personal training and canine behavior consultations.

Christine Permenter has been the receptionist at York Animal Hospital since March 2006.  Prior to joining YAH, Christine was employed as a medical office receptionist, making a transition to a veterinary receptionist has been fun and rewarding, working with animals on a daily basis has always been a goal for her.

She currently lives in North Berwick, with her husband Kevin, daughter Allison, her Bullmastiff Odin and cat Wilson.  She also has a son Ryan, who is living in and attending college in Portland.   In her spare time Christine loves the beach, reading, family and friends.

While attending college in Pennsylvania she worked at Animals in Distress, a no-kill sanctuary for animals. This is where she acquired her two lovable critters, Maggie- a curious and adventurous Staffordshire terrier mix and Nos- the easy-going lovable Chow.

In her free time she enjoys being outside hiking, fishing, snowshoeing or skiing.  Carolyn is currently living in NH with her 2 dogs and boyfriend Alan.
